As a followup to my earlier comment, it appears that time has allowed a root to take place in the “The Occupier” movement. There is now word out on the street that the grassroots organization is assembling in mass in Chicago this May 2012. Their Logo of which we have found, is also not only directed towards those of less favored in Society but now they are directing their “Come one Come all’s” toward the youths to be in the form of dis-obedience…”No Chores” . So, maybe we should think about asking our youths what they think of this movement. Do they feel oppressed, by parents giving them Chores, to teach them that rules in Society do exist for there benefit? Maybe this movement is a means of Tutoring the youths in matters of Civil Dis-Obedience, or Acts of Rebellion, or perhaps of something that could lead to more sinister recruitment.
In most recent years, small movements, as we have seen in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt have toppled Governments so may I point out, unless you want to start supporting the Legal System with massive amounts of money and have to go down and bail-out your kid out of jail, then keeping close tabs on your offspring might not be a bad idea.
Who really knows where this movement is going to end up. From my point of view, these are Days of Remembrance of the 60s and 70s with the Race Issue, the Vietnam War issue, and the “Hippy vs The Man” Issues, with a splash of Gasoline in a Glass Bottle and a Rag, so watch out.
Yes, they had inspirational leaders…like Bob Dylan, Crosby Stills and Nash, and Neil Young, Joan Baez, Richie Havens and and Joni Mitchell . I believe that was what Woodstock at Max Yasgur’s Farm, in August of 69 was about, a Rock Concert turned Protest Rally of the current affairs of this country’s Believe Systems. The way people viewed others was very clearly seen at this mass of half a million people. All got along, and many helped others out of ditches, out of the mud, out of a bad trip and shared for a lack of food and drink. From reports of the “Main-street” media we have seen the same for “The Occupiers” but this time the cry is for a “Change in Governance”. The talk is not so much of the sharing of resources but it is the talk of taking what others have. Let’s call it “The Haves vs the Have-Nots”.
Clearly, these Class distinctions have struck a nerve, on both sides. The “Haves” talk about Hard work, long hours of laboring to acquire the things that make life easier. The “Have-Nots” talk about how hard their lot in life has been and are Damn tired of the Crooks and Lies passed as Truths thus their anxiety of their Future without a place to call home and a place of security.
Reports on the radio say up to 50 million are still without work capable of provide a living wage. So, it is no wonder a grassroots organization can find so many to buy into their cause.
So let’s be careful, it would be so easy for One who has so much power to call a State of Emergency (“DDR 51″ look it up) for so little a reason. Martial Law is a tough way to go. Ask those in Haiti, or those who lived through Hurricanes Katrina or Andrew. Look when FEMA rules we have no say as to our resources. Yes, natural emergency’s but why create a manmade emergency….. without order, without gas, without the banks, we have dis-order, crime, violence, we have a Syria and things get worse.
It’s gonna be a long,,, hot summer…its gonna be a long,,, time coming… Hmm catchy tune….CSN
Stay Tuned, it’s only going to get more interesting.
